We can perform certified acoustic noise measurements for industry, plant construction and civil building purposes as follows:

As acceptance test or approval purpose acoustic measurements und noise reports nowadays are becoming more necessary. Everybody will know if the contractual agreements are met. If everything is approved side effects as payment deduction, etc. can be avoided in advance.

Noise measurements of machines and industrial plants

For evaluation of radiated sound energy from machines or industrial plants (or even parts of it, piping, vessel, etc) noise emission measurements are made. These measurements are also basis for noise abatement measures.

The new directives require a noise reduced design of machinery and equipment and an identification label of the sound emission (ref. Outdoor Equipment directive 2000/14/EC or Machinery directive 89/392/ECWG and 98/37/EC respectively).

We will consult you for estimation of sound from your machinery and equipment and support you in finding and working out of acoustic specifications, noise reduction concepts to fulfil the acoustic requirements.

Noise measurements at workplaces


The European directive ?Noise at workplaces? Directive 2003/10/EC, new regulations and harder requirement are approaching us. The new defined day exposure level LEX,8h of 80 dB(A) is 5dB less than the old requirement. This leads for many workshops and assembly halls to additional acoustic treatment.

Noise measurents at civil building constructions
For proving of sound transmission losses STC values and impact sound levels , (e.g. sound insulation between flats, rooms, ceilings, etc.) the following values are used:

For measuring these values Sound transmission loss STC and impact sound transmission level special equipment is required as the speakers (Dodekaeder) and a rated impact sound transmission - Hammer. The sound meter controls automatically the noise generator, recording of levels and estimation of reverberation time.

Noise emission and noise immission measurements
Noise emission measurement figures out what amount of sound energy is emitted by the noise source and how loud it is in the environment.
As common method the sound pressure level is measured in a defined distance leading the microphone over a fictive shell. The average of the several measurements gives us the average sound pressure level. This sound level can be recalculated to the sound power level. At noise immission measurements the sound will be measured at the immission points ? in most cases houses, flats, etc. which shall be protected against too loud noise. Sound immission levels and limits are the provisions of national law

Sound power measurements
A sound power level is a value of the total noise energy radiated in all directions by a noise source e.g. a machine. It is a property of the noise source and is essentially independent of the measuring environment. Sound power levels are useful to equipment manufacturers, buyers, installers, and users for comparing the noise output from different machines, comparing of measures before and after modifications to reduce the noise. Sound power levels must also be specified in instructions and sales literature for equipment conforming to the EU Machinery Safety Directive.

A measurement of the sound power can be achieved with the sound intensity method with the following advantages:
